Workshops for adults
I teach you making mosaics with hammer and chopping block and this according to the right rules, then you’ve come to the right place. You can visit my studio for various workshops from 1 to 5 days.
I mainly base myself on mosaic rules as taught in the ‘Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli‘ in Spilimbergo. Because I just love this style of mosaics. I am fortunate that in the meantime I have befriended several maestra who have graduated from this school and have found them willing to give workshops in my studio. I mainly focus on passing on the right knowledge with regard to andamenti as well as the use of different surfaces and various types of glue.
Interested in a long-term training? I also teach at the academy of Wilrijk, the only school in the Benelux, where you can follow a 5-year training.
Workshops for beginners and free studio
Would you like to learn making mosaic? That is possible.
Make an appointment on days (a day) that suits you. You may even be all alone. Then you immerse yourself in the studio with me and we get to work with what YOU would like to learn.
I currently no longer organize workshops with foreign teachers because my focus has shifted to creating more of my own works.
Contemporary mosaic – commissiones
If you think mosaics are beautiful, but if you don’t want to start making them yourself, have them made.
- A Roman-inspired mosaic depicting your profession or a person you know.
- A unique mirror for your toilet or bathroom
- A coffee table or garden table
- That beautiful children’s drawing of your son or daughter is immortalized in what is called ‘Art for eternity’ because of the durability of this technique.
- A portrait of someone dear to you.
- Or even a gravestone is possible (see project Sterrenweide).
- Do you have a business? Then you can have a unique mosaic made for your entrance hall, your desk,… Be sure to ask about the possibilities.
Of course I also master the classical techniques, so I am fond of Roman or Byzantine mosaics, a copy of existing mosaics is also possible.
